I have studied yoga for over 30 years and qualified as a yoga teacher in 1976 with the British Wheel of Yoga – the Sports’ Council’s recognised national body in the UK.
I also attend various yoga courses and seminars run by a variety of yoga specialists.
There are many reasons to join a yoga class. Some people are interested in the obvious physical benefits of being more supple and toned, others are wanting to relieve stress, to calm thoughts and bring peace to the mind.
One of the most popular forms of yoga in this country is Hatha Yoga, which includes postures, breathing techniques and deep relaxation. These bring balance and harmony to the mind and body.
The postures are done slowly and can be adapted to suit individual needs.
